We are happy to announce that the National VBMA, in cooperation with Live Oak Bank, will be providing a new opportunity to its members. The NVBMA will provide a $5,000 summer research grant to one VBMA member for the summer of 2010. Members must submit an application and research proposal by April 4th, 2010, and will be notified of their status by May 1st, 2010. The application will be available on the National VBMA website at www.vbma.biz under the “Members” blue tab.

The “VBMA-Live Oak Evidence Based Management Report” provides an opportunity for one of our members to engage in scholarly research over the course of one summer. The research topic will be based on the applicant’s interests, but must include a proposal for a measurable, statistics-based project within veterinary business management. Applicants will also be required to have a professional or faculty advisor for the project. The ultimate goal of the project will be a publishable article at the end of the Fall 2010 semester.

There are many associations and individuals who, like the VBMA, seek to advance the profession and would be happy to help with your potential research project.
