Alumni

VBMA strives to stay in contact with all previous VBMA members and officers as you are a great resource to our current VBMA members! It is our hope that you alumni will help facilitate this long term relationship so we may keep you involved through regional chapters near you. Afterall, our alumni are now the experts!

Many past VBMA members ask "What comes after the VBMA?" & "How can I stay involved?"

We're honored that you don't want to leave us behind. We certainly don’t want to leave you behind either! To update your contact information so we can keep you involved, please click here: Update Alumni Contact Information

One of the greatest assets of our organization is its members. Throughout the history of the VBMA we have been a student-driven organization looking to our creative membership for new opportunities. The same is true here. Please take advantage of the resources this website provides to connect with VBMA members and alumni and tell us how you want to be involved! You can start by contributing to the forum on the future of the VBMA Alumni here.

Our members are the students who want to be the future leaders of this industry, the future practice owners and decisions makers. As you use the skills and perspective you gained as a VBMA member, think about the value of networking with future VBMA graduates. Combing our experience, we'll all learn much more, it's an amazing assocation we have!

In addition to solutions you all may come up with, there are already easy ways to get involved with your local VBMA chapters:

Networking - Educating - Mentoring - Hiring - Financing

Networking:

- Speed Networking Events - an opportunity to meet a lot of students in a small period of time.

- Business Etiquette Dinners - a great opportunity to meet veterinary students, talk about the VBMA, and have a delicious, multi-course meal.

Educating:

To a VBMA chapter there is nothing quite like an interesting, informative, and FREE speaker. Many of the VBMA chapters are want to hear from practitioners who can give students the inside scoop about what it’s really like in practice and how these VBMA skills will help them.

Mentoring:

See if your VMA provides mentoring opportunities at the local veterinary school. Request mentees who are VBMA members and invite them to your practice to show them how you use the skills you learned as a VBMA member.

Hiring:

You know the value of a VBMA membership, so consider talking to your practice owner about hiring VBMA members.

Financing:

The VBMA depends on funds to continue running both at the National and chapter levels. As a 501(c)3 organization we provide a charitable opportunity that gives back to our whole industry. This website will have the ability to accept donations shortly or you can contact your local chapter for sponsorship.

Finally, share your story and experiences! Contact your regional VBMA chapter to see how you can get involved.
