Etiqutte Dinner- University of Missouri
The University of Missouri's VBMA chapter held an etiquette dinner on June 16, 2009. Fourteen VBMA members and two non-members attended the dinner. Kari Utterback, our ettiquette instructor from the University Club, showed us how to eat properly in business situations. This is an increasingly important skill since more and more employers are conducting dinner interviews. We discussed proper topics to discuss over dinner, such as local sports teams, weather, hobbies, and learned to avoid topics such as religion, politics. We learned both the American and European eating styles covering all courses of a dinner (from bread to dessert). The peas were especially challenging! The dinner was fun-filled and lots of great questions were asked pertaining to many different situations. This was a fantastic event and we recieved lots of good feedback. We will hopefully host another etiquette dinner next year!
