Exec. Officer Applications Now Available

The VBMA is announcing openings for all national officer positions. Applications must be responsive to the outline given below and are due on or before April 17, 2009. The current VBMA executive board will review proposals and select candidates for telephone interviews, which will be held May 16th and May 17th. Final candidates will be flown to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Conference in Seattle, WA for strategic planning sessions July 11th-14th. Selected officers will assume their official positions at the North American Veterinary Conference in January, 2010.

Application format:

Each individual interested in running for office must complete an application. The application consists of the following components:

1) Contact Information (including: name, email address, telephone numbers, veterinary school attended, graduation year, and mailing address)

2) VBMA positions that you would especially like to be considered for
and if there are any positions you would not be interested in serving. Please indicate whether you would be interested in serving as a Regional Leader if we cannot offer you an executive position.

3) Two references (with contact information) that will be available and willing to speak to the NVBMA executive board regarding your qualifications. Fellow VBMA chapter officers and/or VBMA faculty advisors are excellent choices.

Explain in two pages or less

• Why you want to be a national officer

• What strengths/experiences make you an ideal candidate for your position(s) of choice

• How, specifically, you would use your officer role to continue the National VBMA’s current projects as well as advance our organization into the future
