Hello from Ohio!
We are hosting an exciting event that we would like to share with the other VBMA chapters. The Ohio State University VMBA will be hosting a wine tasting event focused on networking with the local veterinary community. We are inviting a group of our members to enjoy an evening of wine education while spending time with practitioners from the Columbus area. A sommelier will be leading the group though several tastings as our members get to mingle with local veterinarians from various backgrounds.
The event is targeted on instilling lessons of professionalism in an untraditional setting. Also, the wine tasting event will allow our members to meet local clinicians. We have invited veterinarians that have relationships with our officers as well as inviting members of the local Columbus Veterinary Academy.
There were several obstacles that were overcome during the planning of this event. First, we had to find a location that would allow us host the event. The event will be held at the clubhouse of one of our officer’s condominium complex. This allowed us to find a large enough space without paying a restaurant or banquet hall. We also had to ensure that the event would not cause any problems with local liquor laws. After lots of help from our advisors we were able to ensure that our event would not put anyone in any jeopardy.
