Group Managers - Who Is This Requesting Membership?

You are now the group manager, you have the power of approving and denying membership, but you don't necessarily know who this mysterious person is who has requested to join your group.

You receive an e-mail from the website that says something to the effect of:

"To instantly approve this request, visit http://www.vbma.biz/og/approve/79/113.
You may deny this request or manage members at http://www.vbma.biz/og/users/79."

But you have no idea who this person is! Even if you find their username it might not immediately reveal their identity. Here's what you do to find out who that person is:

1. Click on the second link, the one with the format www.vbma.biz/og/users/#

2. There will be a list of members and memberships that say (approval needed)

3. Click on the username immediately before the phrase "(approval needed)". This will take you to that users profile page.

4. Their full name may be listed on their profile page under the heading "Full Name". If not, don't sweat it, there's still another way to find out.

5. Click the tab under the person's username that says "Contact" (the green tab next to "view", NOT the big blue one up at the very top of the window next to "resources")

6. You can send them an e-mail asking them to confirm their name (and/or) class with you so you can be sure they are in fact a member.

7. If you discover they are in fact a member, go ahead and approve their membership request. If they are not a member then do not approve them.

8. You can always add and remove members later. (You can learn how to add members you know have joined the website here: http://www.vbma.biz/forum/group-managers-adding-members
