Recently, a student at PennVet organized a short course for her classmates on "Media Relations." The goal of the event was to train (or start training) students to be able to create and execute an effective media message. More and more, veterinarians are being called upon for their input into national, regional and local issues; and it behooves us to be able to perform in these situations. Though the event was not a VBMA event, it could become a great option for many VBMA chapter programming. My classmate and her primary speaker have shown interest in helping other schools organize a similar course.
