When the VBMA was first coming into fruition at The Ohio State University, one of the boards worked with a sponsor to develop a business library. There are so many great books and resources out there that speakers are constantly recommending that weren't previously available in our school library, so they decided to change that. Since then, we try to set aside funding each year to add new books to our library related to personal finance, business management, emotional intelligence, leadership, communication etc. Since it was started, we have outgrown numerous lock cabinets and book shelves that are stored in whatever space we could safely utilize in the academic building. However, since our latest cabinet is falling apart, we would like to work with the University to create a shelf or area in the Veterinary Library to make them even more available to students. Lately, it seems that the profession is really beginning to catch with the vision of VBMA... it seems that even our professors, administrators and the dean is accepting that these resources are important for our professional development and success in the future! As we continue to expand the library, we would love any book recommendations so we can make these resources available to other students and our future colleagues.
