QX: Making yourself and your business marketable in the current economy

For this topic I just wanted to pick everyone's brain on what they are doing to make themselves stand-out amongst other students?

We all know this isn't the greatest time to be looking for a job or starting up a business. What things are you doing to increase your "marketability" to future employers? Are you getting an MBA, doing the VBMA business certificate program, networking at conferences, etc? Do you have your resume or CV ready to give out? Do you have business cards made? Do you participate in mock interviewing seminars? Just let other members know what you do, because VBMA students are the cream of the crop!

Also, have you been to meetings to discuss new ways to market a business? I know we are all pretty far off from owning a business, maybe not though! What have you learned to increase business and market share of a veterinary practice- especially in big cities where there are many, many practices.

Thank you for your input!
