Success/ attempts to collaborate with local veterinarians?
January 31, 2010 - 4:18pm — mebhdc (MIZ)
Good afternoon!
Our University of Missouri chapter has planned our first annual Spring Seminar for early March. We have 3 stimulating topics planned and have been approved by the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association to offer any participating veterinarian 5 CE credits.
We were wondering if any chapter has attempted to reach out to local private practioners and invited them to participate in an event? Please share your successes and failures in this attempt!
Anything would be greatly appreciated!

We reached out to local
We reached out to local pracitioners when we had our Elephant in the Room event here at Virginia. I think you all had one too a couple years ago?
Our school has an in-house publicity director and so we reached out to them. They had lots of e-mail and contacts in the area that they e-mailed like a day before our meeting and we got at least 10-15 veterinarians to show up, even on such short notice. You should be able to just ask one of your administrators if you have such a person
If you guys don't have a publicity person at your school, maybe you have an president or director of your alumni association that could suit the same function.
