VBMA meeting at Iowa State

At our introductory meeting, we had Dr. Tom Johnson the Executive Director of the IVMA speak. Dr. Johnson has 25+ years of experience in small animal practice and has a good handle on food animal opportunities in veterinary medicine. Since we have a wide range of practice interest in our club (small animal, equine, large animal, mixed practice, research, specialty medicine, and more), we felt Dr. Johnson's broad level of knowledge was a good fit for our introductory meeting. He did an excellent job of using examples from many different work areas while discussing the benefit of organized veterinary medicine and the IVMA. We have a very good relationship with Dr. Johnson, and this relationship has been very key in the activities we had in the past and activities we are planning for the future. If you are not in contact with your state veterinary medical association, I highly recommend contacting your state association today!
