Student Learning Objectives:

To learn about valuing and managing a veterinary practice and the effect of profits and legal documents and defensive practice to the practitioner.

Description of Activities:

Work with me and my legal office staff and with my veterinary hospital and hospital manager to learn the financial and legal management side of veterinary medicine

Areas of Expertise:

Practice valuations & management and ownership of veterinary hospitals

Methods of Evaluation:

Meet at least weekly for conferences on legal issues and bi-weekly with hospital managers using the weekly 30 plus page management report on practice and/or of other clients practices reports.

Expected Time Commitment:

40 to 45 hours a week, especially if one wants to be involved in the day to day veterinary practice management quality control.

Housing Provided:

Yes we have a bunk in the staff room at the veterinary hospital and at the law office a hotel room is rented or students may stay at mentor’s residence.
