VPI-VBMA Student Case Study Competition

Each year, VBMA members have the opportunity and are encouraged to participate in the VPI-VBMA Student Case Study Competition. VPI awards one winning student from each participating chapter a $1000 visa gift card and VPI gift bundle.
By participating in this competition, VBMA members gain a considerable competitive advantage over future veterinary professionals by familiarizing themselves with a tool that assists in improving the quality of medicine delivered to patients, while increasing practice revenue.
All VBMA chapters and members (including competition coordinators, chapter officers, regional leaders and national officers) are encouraged to participate. Each VBMA chapter is responsible for appointing a competition coordinator who will be in charge of the following:
- Broadcasting the competition to all veterinary students on campus
- Scheduling a mandatory meeting for students interested in participating to discuss competition parameters and answer questions
- Keeping students mindful of the competition deadline
Additionally, your participation will benefit your chapter and your region.
Chapter Incentives:
Each chapter must submit a minimum of 3 unique entries to be eligible. Your chapter could receive the following sponsorship funds for participating:
• For 3 - 9 unique entries, chapter will receive $250
• For 10 - 14 unique entries, chapter will receive $350
• For 15 – 19 unique entries, chapter will receive $450
• For 20 or more unique entries, chapter will receive $550
Regional Incentives:
The region with the highest percentage of entries relative to its size will receive an additional $100 for each participating chapter in that region.
Coordinator Incentives:
One coordinator from each region with the highest percentage of entries relative to its size will receive $100.
To participate in the competition, students are asked to obtain a sample invoice from a veterinary clinic, describe the clinical case, and provide the benefits breakdown of a VPI Pet Insurance policy claim. To download an entry form, rules and instructions after the competition has begun and to obtain details about becoming a competition coordinator, visit the VPI student website (http://students.petinsurance.com) and go to the VPI-VBMA Student Case Study Competition page. You can find the competition packet on the VPI website or if you scroll down.
